i saw the tv glow

pretty on the nose with its message but, subtlety be damned, pretty effective at getting it across. as someone who lets the what - if intrusive thoughts snowball into a fleshed out 3 act narratives that will dictate how I view my day this movie did it for me. the 2 leads felt so real to me, rejected by the norm , falling further detached from reality, walking husks only continuing living not due to any fear of dying but afraid of being seen or perceived in death

such a real film for all us weirdos who (unhealthily) continue clinging to the media of their childhood not just for nostalgias sake but as escapism. i wish pink opaque was real

Jane Schoenbrun makes some pretty cool shit. wasnt into We're All Going to the Worlds Fair but I was still enamored by the world built by it. given that this website is named after a shitty creepypasta im quite fond of its no suprise that a movie with an arg type feel where an internet urban legend would tickle my brain. wish it did more. I Saw the TV Glow feels like a major step up in quality from it while still keeping that moodiness and mystique she did so well in worlds fair.
